George Odie Thibodeaux, 76, of Liberty, went home to Jesus on Sunday, January 12, 2014, at Mid-Jefferson Extended Care, in Nederland.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, January 16, 2014, at the Cornerstone Church in Liberty with burial following at the Cooke Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Wednesday, at the Cornerstone Church in Liberty. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

George was born October 19, 1937 in Liberty, to parents; Lodis and Ida Belle Blanchard Thibodeaux, a former resident of Raywood, and has resided in Liberty for six years. He was a veteran of the US Navy, a retired security guard for Varco Security, a member of Cornerstone Church, former rigger for Parker Wells and a furnace/crane operator for National Pipe and Tube. He also enjoyed reading his bible, barbecuing, telling jokes, working in his shed, auto racing, going to movies with his loved ones and most of LOVED TO EAT CRAWFISH.

Mr. Thibodeaux was preceded in death by his parents and brothers: Bobby Lee and Donald Thibodeaux.

In lieu of usual floral remembrances the family requests that donation be made to the Cornerstone Church Youth at 1693 HWY 146 Bypass, Liberty, TX 77575.
