Richard D. Corsnitz,85,died at 8:43 a.m. Sunday,December 29,2013,at York Hospital. He was ther husband of Janet J.(Callender)Corsnitz.

Born September 29,1928 in Halifax,a son of the late Charles and Velva(Straub) Corsnitz,he was a 1946 graduate of Millersburg High School and earned his Bachlor's Degree in Business Administration from Duquesne University in 1952. He worked as a supervisor of accounts recievable for Hall's Trucking in Subury, and Motor Frieght Express in York, and most recently worked for CEX Trucking, from where he retired.

He also served in the U.S. Navy during World War II,and as a 2nd Lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force Reservers.

Hw was a member of First Baptist Church and had been a Sunday Schoiol teacher for 51 years. He was also a member of the Phoenix Club of York,and the Viking Athletic Association.

In addition to his wife,Mr. Corsnitz is survived by two daughters,Debra J. Ludwig and her husband,Steve of York, and Sherry A. Gordon and her husband,Dwayne, of New Cumberland; four grandchildren and three great-granddaughters; a brother,Robert Corsnitz of Phoenix,Arizona; and two sisters,Shirley Cockerill of Simi Valley, Calif., and June Miller of Harrisburg.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m.,Friday,January 3,2014, at First Baptist Church, 3375 Druck Valley Road, York,with his pastor, the Rev. Timothy J. Munson officiating. Viewing will be from 9 to 10 a.m.

Burial will follow in Mount Rose Cemetery with military honors presented be the York County Veterans Honor Guard.
