Mary and Edis raised their family on a dairy farm in Lewiston. He enjoyed developing one of the finest registered Holstein herds in the area and was well known in the dairy industry. He was involved in the Utah Dairy Council, the Dairy Herd Improvement Association, the Holstein Friesian Association and other professional organizations. He was a community leader, being involved as an officer of the Hogan Ditch Company, the Lions Club and other civic organizations.
Edis was a lifelong devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he served in many callings and was always faithful in his service. He was well known as an individual of total honesty and integrity who was always positive with others. He treated strangers as friends and none could stay a stranger long when he visited with them. After retiring from the dairy, Edis managed the Richmond Stake Dairy Farm, spent much time gardening, working in his yard and caring for his beloved wife. He missed her so much these last few years and we know their reunion was wonderful.
He is survived by son Bryan (Rulea Heaton), daughter Toni Pugmire (Jaren), son Timothy (Gloria Shaffer), Sisters Myrna Larson and LaRee Scott; 15 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Mary, his brothers Walter and Paul, sisters Maleese Taggart, Ruey Hyde, Janett Hodges, and Verla Olsen, son James, and grandchildren Scott Taggart and Cody Pugmire.
