Audrey Beryl Connor Gideon, 85, of Carmichaels, died Wednesday, March 22, 2006 in Beverly Health Care Center, Waynesburg. She was born January 14, 1921 in Gates, a daughter of William Calvin and Anna Jaynes Connor. Mrs. Gideon worked as a "ROSIE THE RIVETER" in defense plants in Deroit, Mich, during World War II. She later helped her husband at Gideon's Garage, Carmichaels. Mrs. Gideon was a member of the First United Methodist Church and Civic Club both in Carmichaels. She enjoyed knitting, quilting, upholstering and ceramics. She befriended many people.
On August 9, 1946 she married John H Gideon who died Novedmber 14, 1980. Surviving are a daughter, Susan Lawrence (John Paul) of Carmichaels; four grandchildren, J P, Ben, Caitlin and Katrina Lawrence; and a sister, Betty Jean Berish (Robert) of Masontown. Deceased are a granddaughter, Jennifer Lawrence; a sister, Eleanor Wilson; and two brothers, Jack and William Connor. Services will be Saturday, March 25, in Paul M Lesako Funeral Home Inc, Carmichaels, with the Rev Lois Swestyn officiating. Burial will follow in Laurel Point Cemetery, Carmichaels.
