Funeral services for Mrs. Bradie Ann Belcher, 68, of Devils Lake, who died early Friday at Missoula, Montana, were conducted this afternoon from the Methodist church in Devils Lake with the Rev. Harold Neinas officiating. Interment was in the family plot of the G.A.R. Cemetery.
Her remains are expected to arrive in Devils Lake Sunday evening and will lie in state at the Toomey-Sorvick Funeral Chapel until Tuesday.
The former Bradie Ann Burgess was born at Wheeling, West Virginia March 4, 1886. Her parents migrated to Devils Lake in the early 1900's.
In 1906 she was united in marriage to Columbus Shelby Belcher. Following their marriage, they homesteaded on a farm south of Ft. Totten where they farmed up to the time of Mr. Belcher's death in 1943. Since that time, she has been makng her home with her children.
Surviving are five children, Margaret (Mrs. Albert Thompson) of Oberon; Harold Belcher and Mar (Mrs. Emil Nelson) of Sheyenne; Louise (Mrs. Willard Schmid) of Missoula, Montana; and Shelby Belcher of Devils Lake. Also surviving are 23 grandchildren; four brothers; Ira Burgess of Devils Lake rural, Scheff and John Burgess of Webster; and Dr. Clarence Burgess of Honolulu; four sisters, Louise Burgess of Webster, Mrs. Bert Wilkinson of Crary, Nettie (Mrs. Howard Williams) of Portland, Oregon, and Myrtle (Mrs. Jason Gaa) also of Webster.
