From Nevada Representative August 6, 1878
Mrs. Beckwith, wife of Mr. S. H. Beckwith, of Grant township, and mother of the unfortunate young lady who burned to death by the kerosene explosion of a kerosene lamp a few weeks ago, was buried in the Nevada Cemetery yesterday. Her funeral was attended by all of her neighbors, by whom she was highly respected. A husband and five children, the youngest three years old, are left to mourn her loss.
