Edna was a Baha'i living in Glendale, California, single and working for the telephone company. She was friends with Artemus Lamb, Shirley Ward, Virginia Orbison, Nellie French, all who went to pioneer during the Seven Year Plan. After her retirement, she made her way to Mexico.

Edna served throughout that country, walking miles to teach the indigenous peoples, hosting friends in her modest home, and teaching the Baha'i Faith to all she met, serving on committees and the National Spiritual Assembly there. She was never granted permanent residence in Mexico, and so would return to the US to renew her visa every few years. She delighted us all with her stories of teaching and pioneering.

The last years of her pioneering were spent in the Yucatan area. She served in Mexico for over 30 years. Toward the end of her life, ill and unable to receive the medical care she needed, she returned to California to be cared for by Sara Wilmar of Glendora, California.
