Betty Jean Sigmon Meadows, 83, of Hickory, was a daughter of the late Carl Glenn Sigmon and Mozelle Gertrude Elizabeth Lineberger Sigmon. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Charles Ransom Meadows; grandson, Justin Michael Braunschweiger; and two brothers, William Gary Sigmon and Carl Glenn Sigmon, Jr.
Mrs. Meadows was a caring, generous woman with a warm heart and captivating smile. She was devoted to her "Best Friend Charlie" and a dedicated military wife. Betty lived in numerous places around the world, such as the Azores, Germany and the Philippines as well as a variety of locations within the United States.
The legacy she leaves for her daughter is a lifetime of precious memories of the most loving, wonderful Mother in the world.
She adored her grandsons and treasured time spent with them. Her genuine concern for others meant that she put their well-being above her own and she was always there with a smile and encouragement ready to help and nurture.
Betty and her husband Charles were charter members of Highland United Methodist Church in Hickory.
Interment in Oakwood Cemetery.
