RIPLEY – Hazel Leopal Mullikin Hurt, 99, died Wednesday, June 30, 2004, at Beverly Healthcare. She was a retired teacher, a homemaker and a member of Turner's Chapel Baptist Church.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Ripley Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Elmer Paseur officiating. Burial will be in Criswell Cemetery.
Survivors include a brother, the Rev. Spurgeon Mullikin of Ripley; two grandchildren, Carol Anne Hurt and Davis Hurt of Ripley; a great-grandchild, Allison Hurt of Ripley; a daughter-in-law, Maxine Hurt of Ripley; a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Talbert Hurt; a son, T.J. Hurt; her parents, Andrew “Andy” and Minnie Chapman Mullikin; and three sisters and four brothers.
Pallbearers will be Mark Mauney, Rodney Mullikin, T.C. Mauney, Karl Hurt, Jerry Huddleston and David Reed.
Honorary pallbearers will be Glenn Mauney, Carl Dane Mauney, Randolph Mullikin, Jason Rammage and Gary Hodges.
Visitation will continue from 6:30 a.m. to service time today.
