He was born and raised in Medford, son of the late Paul and Rose (DeGloria) Saraceno, and graduated with high honors from Holyoke Community College.
Francis served in the United States Army during the Vietnam era, and worked as a machinist for Pliant Corporation in Deerfield. He also worked for several years for the Hampshire County Dog Office.
Francis is survived by his loving wife Judith A. (Burgess) Saraceno; a daughter Jessica I. Saraceno of Chicopee; two step-daughters, Julia and Nicole Clinker of Rhode Island; five grandchildren, Riley, John, Owen, Julian and Delaney; a niece Nicole Saraceno; and a nephew Paul Saraceno; as well as many loving cousins.
Besides his parents, Francis was predeceased by a brother Arthur Saraceno.
Calling hours will be held Wednesday, June 12, from 3 to 5:30 p.m. at the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton St., Holyoke, with a funeral home service to take place at 5:30 p.m. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to VNA & Hospice of Cooley Dickinson Hospital, 168 Industrial Drive, Northampton, MA 01060.
