Melvin DeLos Bise Jr., 58, of Topeka, Ks. passed away Wed. Feb. 6th. He was born April 23, 1954 in Moberly, Mo. to Mary Reffett-Bise-Best and Melvin Bise Sr. Mel spent his life working in construction, a trade he learned from his father. He attended Seaman High School. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 half-brothers Derald Bise, Richard Bise, and a step-mother Louisa Bise. Mel was always a wanderer until he settled down with his companion of 16yrs, Jenny Frakes who cared for Mel in his last days. Also, survived by his much loved dogs, D.O.G and Spanky whom he cherished. Mel is survived by his sister Melva (Deanie) Bise, step-sisters Sara McGinnis, LouAnn Rumbley, Colleen Ferdig, Debbie Griffin, DeAnna Lambert, Linda Erikson, step-brothers Eric Griffin, Billy, Mike and Bob Foresman. Nieces Scarlett Pratt, Brandi Bolin, and many more. Mel was a big guy with a teddy bear heart and loved by many. Memorial Services will be Sat. Feb. 16th from 1-3pm at American Legion Post #1, 3800 SE Michigan Topeka, Ks 66609. Memorial contributions may be made to the Melvin D. Bise Jr. memorial fund in c/o Envista Credit Union, 3626 SW Wanamaker Topeka, Ks. 66614.
