JOHN HOWARD BARNHART died at the home of his daughter, Mrs Charles Hays, 36 Coffman Avenue, Saturday at 11:45 pm, after an illness of several months, aged 79 years.
Born at Middleburg, Pa, he had spent his entire life in this area. He was the son of John and Elizabeth (Lowman) Barnhart.
Surviving are his wife, Della (McElroy) Barnhart; daughters, Mrs Andrew Castle, Hagerstown: Mrs William E Whittington, Hagerstown; Mrs Fred Slick Sr, Hagerstown; Mrs Charles Hays, Hagerstown; Mrs Howard Burger, Williamsport; sons, Charles H Barnhart, Funkstown; Maurice E Barnhart, Cumberland; 21 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and sister, Mrs John J Baker, Middleburg, Pa.
The body was taken to the Coffman Funeral Home, where the funeral will be held Tuesday at 2 pm, the Rev Russell Oyer officiating, with interment in Rose Hill Cemetery.
