Mike was the only son of Wayne Martin and Norma Jean (Bricker) Grim.
While attending Central Bucks High School - East, Mike was a leader and captain of the Patriot Basketball Team which finished first in the Bux-Mont League and third in the District in 1979. He was a diligent, hard-working individual determined to perform as well in the classroom as he did on the basketball court. Upon graduating from high school, he attended Swarthmore College, looking forward to a career in law and political science. Within our family and circle of friends, Mike was loving and sensitive with a keen sense of humor. His creativity and potential, which seemed so great at the time, were cut short in the brief moments it took for a tragic automobile accident to occur. To honor his life and memory, our family, his coaches and friends have established a scholarship fund. The Michael Wayne Grim Memorial Scholarship Fund was established in 1980 and since 1981, a senior student athlete possessing qualities similar to those exemplified in Michael’s life is chosen to receive this award. The current award is valued at $20,000 for the chosen athlete scholar, a truly remarkable tribute.
