Born in Norway, Kristen journeyed to the United States at the age of sixteen or seventeen and worked on the farms of his brothers, Enok and Adolph. In a tragic turn of events, Kris was kicked to death by a horse on the Gisch place,* just after his betrothal to a girl in Norway. His wedding suit, tailored in and sent from Norway, arrived a the local store later and Enok purchased it. Kristen Westwick is buried in the Rose Grove Cemetery.
