Rev. Bill Hallam Sr. died Sunday, May 19, 2013 on the day of Pentecost peacefully in his sleep surrounded by his family.
Bill was born to Hugh & Sarah Hallam August 19, 1929 in Beaumont, Texas.
He entered the Marine Corps at the end of WWII & was honorably discharged in 1950. Bill returned to Beaumont where he went to work at Southern Pacific Railroad. He met & married Betty Jane White & raised seven children together in the Jasper area. Bill was ordained in 1955 & together he & Betty pastored & ministered in Jasper until her death in 2003. In 2004 Brother Bill met & married Phyllis Crew & they have pastored Life Tabernacle in Kirbyville until his death. In addition to pastoring Brother Bill Hallam has been an entrepreneur, founding & operating several successful businesses in East Texas for over 60 years. He served many churches from Texas to Idaho as a minister or director. Brother Hallam believed simply "Love God & follow peace."
He is survived by his wife Phyllis Hallam; sons Billy Hallam Jr., Gary Hallam, Pastor Walter Hallam, Larry Hallam, Michael Hallam; daughters, Rebecca Wright, Nancy Colbert; three brothers; Eighteen grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years Betty White Hallam; brothers Hugh Bradley Hallam, Malcolm Kelly Hallam, Morris Jacks, sister Sherry Jacks, and two grandchildren Caitlyn Hallam & Angela Hallam.
