Berkvam, Frederick C.

Age 60 years, of E8702 River Road, Clintonville, passed away Monday, October 21, 2002 at his residence from prostate cancer. Frederick Christian Berkvam was born October 25, 1941 in Albert Lea, MN, to Kenneth and Virgie (Severson) Berkvam. As a child his family moved to Appleton where he was raised. After graduating from Appleton High School and UW-Oshkosh he was employed for a few years by the City of Milwaukee in the Personnel Department. On July 15, 1967 he was united in marriage to Marilyn D. Steinbach at Christus Lutheran Church, Clintonville. He then taught 5th grade at Waterford Elementary for five years. For the past 20 years, Fred was manager of Dupont Mutual Insurance Company in Marion. The couple lived in the Fremont and Dale communities from 1977-1988. They settled in Clintonville in 1988. Survivors include his wife, Marilyn; two sons, Andy Berkvam, Wausau; Matt Berkvam, Madison, Chicago; his father and mother, Kenneth and Virgie Berkvam, Madison, and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Marlin and Dorothy Steinbach, Clintonville. There are three sisters and a brother: Sue (Bill) Morgan, Madison, Kathy (John) Corey, Beaver Dam, Jim (Peggy) Berkvam, Madison; and Lavonne (Mike) Neuman, Madison; two brothers-in-law: David (Pat) Steinbach, Brookfield; Don Steinbach, Clintonville. Further survived by many other relatives and friends.
