James Edward "Jim" Morenz, 67, of Champaign passed away at 8:57 a.m. Saturday (May 4, 2013) at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.
He was born on July 7, 1945 in Champaign to William H. and Bertha E. Messman Morenz. He was preceded in death by one brother and one sister and his parents. He married Connie Mann on Feb. 17, 1989 in Urbana. She survives.
Also surviving are one daughter, Jeanette (Gregg) Morenz-Gossett; five stepchildren, Allyson Knight, Connie Tanner, William Knight, Jamie Jackson and Robyn Norris; two grandchildren, Thomas J. Wheeler and Miles P. Gossett; eight step-grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Bill Morenz and David Morenz and one sister, Ruth Sinder.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War.
