Theresa Margaret Myers

Theresa Margaret Myers, 74, of Wauchula, passed away in Winter Park on May 1, 2013. Mrs. Myers was born in Chicago, Illinois on February 17, 1939. She moved from Sebring to Hardee County in 1972 and was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church. She had been employed by the Hardee County School Board, was a nursery worker at the First United Methodist Church of Wauchula, and was involved with the Hardee Association for Retarded Citizens.

She was preceded in death by her son, Michael Hillis.

Survivors include her daughter, Jacquelynn Cornelius and husband Michael of Orlando; one brother, Phillip Petta of Leesburg; two nieces, Margaret Petta of Homestead, and Jennifer Petta of St. Petersburg; and one nephew, Matthew Petta of Halandale Beach.

Visitation will be held at Robarts Garden Chapel on Sunday, May 5, 2013 from 6-8 p.m. Funeral Mass is on Monday at St. Michael Catholic Church at 12:00 Noon with Father Luis Pacheco officiating. Interment is in Wauchula Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Special Olympics, or a charity of one's choice.
