Verda Miller was born May 9, 1921 in Reno, the daughter of Luther Miller and Eva Pattani. She had been a Carson City resident for 60 years, and for 22 of those years she worked for the State Retirement Board and State Printing Office.

Active in many clubs around the city, she was a founding member of the Carson City Bowling League, president of the Carson City Women's Golf Club, and a member of the Corpus Christi Catholic Church.

She was survived by her husband, Maurice; three sons, Woody and Jim Barry, and Ken Adams; two sisters, Dee Dee Bjorum and Billie Lewis; two brothers, Ted and Luther Miller; five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
