Marcia Lynn Parks, Draper, died Tuesday, April 18, 1995, in the North Carolina Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem, NC. Funeral services were held Friday, April 21, at 3 p.m. at the Barnett Funeral Chapel with Tommy Dalton officiating. Interment followed in the West End Cemetery.
She was born in Radford, a daughter of the late Howard R. Parks, Sr., and Nina Collins Parks Rogers. She is survived by one daughter, Ashley Nicole Riggins; one son, Jason Howard Riggins, both of Austinville; three sisters, Sherrie Parks Haga, Draper, Patricia P. Salidvar, Mt. Airy, NC, and Sarah D. Parks, Austinville; one brother, Howard R. "Randy" Parks, Jr., Mt. Airy, NC; her maternal grandfather, Alex R. Collins, Mt. Airy, NC, formerly of Max Meadows; and five nieces and one nephew.
The family suggests that those who prefer may make memorials to the Family Resource Center, P. O. Box 612, Wytheville, VA 24382 for battered wives. Barnett Funeral Home in Wytheville was in charge of the arrangements.
