Loren was my grandfather's brother. Some say his full name was Loren Gordon Warner. Others say it was Joseph George Loren Warner, which is consistent with his WWI Draft Card registration. It says "Joseph George Lorn Warner." His headstone, however, simply says Loren G. Warner. He was born at Raglan, Ontario, Canada.

Loren was widowed while his children were young and his mother stepped in and helped him rear them. After his wife died, he moved the family to Birch Run where he worked as a carpenter until he moved to Clio to make his home with his oldest daughter. He operated a wood working shop for 20 years and did custom carpentry for Neilands Hardware in Clio, making doors and windows. He suffered a stroke in 1966.

He was also a blacksmith.

Thanks to MamaShark for taking the headstone photo.
