Josephine was my grandfather's first wife. She was the daughter of James Douglass and Emma Moran. She married my grandfather, Walter Warner, on November 29, 1906. They had four children: Howard, Clarence, Beatrix, and Ernest. Ernest died at 2 days of age and Josephine died a few months later due to puerperal sepsis.

Little Bea, their only daughter, passed away a year after her mother from meningitis.

A few years later, my grandfather met and married my grandmother, Ila Marie Coutchie. They had four more children, plus reared the two surviving boys from his first marriage.

One story he told that is sad is that the carriage that brought Josephine to the Church when they were married was the same carriage that brought her body to the Church for her funeral.
