Matilda was my great-grandmother. Her grandchildren called her "Meme," which I'm told is French for grandmother. She was a daughter of Joseph Pigeon (or Pidgeon) and Matilda Julliet. She taught school in Montreal, Quebec. She married William Warner and they had six children. They immigrated to the United States and settled in Au Gres, Michigan.

After she was widowed, her son, Loren's wife died while their children were quite young. Matilda stepped in and helped him rear the children.

She died of kidney disease while visiting my grandparents in Flint.
