He was wed to Josephine "Jean" Frucci on February 27, 1941, by Father Joseph Wieber in the rectory of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Niles, MI. They became the parents of sons, Lawrence "Larry" Workman & Anthony "Tony" Workman.
Don was employed by National Standard. They resided at 2157 So. 3rd St. later moving to 11th St. in the German/Italian community of Dickereel. They were very proud of their vegetable and flower gardens. Don passed away on September 28, 2000, "Jean" on November 19, 2012, at West Wood Nursing Home in Niles.
