Gene was born to Eugene Jefferson Miller, Sr. and Fern May Griffin Miller. Eugene Jefferson Miller, Sr. was a salesman and was killed in an automobile accident on December 7, 1932 in Overton, Texas where he is buried. He was only 34 years old.
Gene married Peggy Hurt. They raised their four children, Jeff, Beverly, Ray, and Lori, in West Helena, Arkansas. Gene was a character. He had a quick wit and a love for life. The picture to the right is of Gene with his son, my husband, Ray.
Gene and Peggy moved to Texas to be close to their sons who had moved to the Houston area to work and their daughter, Beverly, who is living in the Dallas area. Gene and Peggy both lived the rest of their lives in the Houston area. Gene died of lung cancer.
