This was my Dad. Lost contact many years ago. I was unable to get to the funeral. He was just an average man with above average problems. If you needed help he would take time to do what he could. He was a 20 year serviceman in the Air Force. Married twice and the father of 5 children. He loved us the best way he could. As time goes by the hurt hurts less and the sorrow of a life lost realized. I hope he found peace in his final days. He was the child of a broken family and did the best he could for us.
Perhaps the thing I remember most was his voice. It was deep and loud. He did many things after the service. He worked in banking, retail and security. He didn't know his own mother until he was a young man. His father took him from her. Times back then weren't easy for them. He met a brother after joining the service. He did not have many close relationships but he got by.

God Bless You, Dad. I miss you very much.

I do not know much about my Dad's family. I'd met a few when I was younger. I'd like to get in contact with others. My Dad was far from perfect but he was my father and he like so many others deserved better.

I'm glad I have pictures of you. It has been so long since we saw each other. I remember the depth of your voice. I remember the first baseball glove I got from you. Vacations, ball games, Christmases, working on the car. The first Christmas after Mom and you divorced.

I wished we had been inseparable like in the movies, but that's not how life is. We were human and stubborn. You had your life to live. I didn't want you in mine. And then you were gone and the regret began to grow. Neither of us perfect, but we were perfectly flawed.

I pray for you, that you are better.
