MAMIE BURNS BAKER (NEE: ALTMAN) - 84

Funeral services for Mamie Altman Burns Baker, 84, who died Friday, October 19, 2007, will be held Monday at 11:00 AM from the graveside in Edgewood Cemetery with Rev. Alvin Pollard officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday from 4-6 PM at George H. Hewell and Son Funeral Home, 4747 Main Street, Jacksonville, FL 32206. Mrs. Baker was born in Raiford, Florida and was a lifelong resident of Jacksonville. She was a member of Senior Regent Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge, Riverview Garden Club and the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, William Henry Burns Jr.. Later she found love again and was married to William H. Baker for 17 years until his death. Survivors include her daughter, Patricia Hodges; 2 sons, William H. Burns III (Beth) and Richard L. Burns (Tina); 3 sisters, Bertha Clark, Mildred Pickett and Louise Pickett; Many loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
