Obituary: Calera, Oklahoma - Bea Ruth Pittman Sanders, 81 year old Calera resident, died Monday, Aug. 14, 2000, at the Calera Manor Nursing Home. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 17, in Cedarlawn Memorial Park in Sherman, Texas with the Rev. Roger Speers officiating.

Mrs. Sanders was born on Oct. 5, 1918, in Ward County, Texas, the daughter of Columbus C. Pittman and Estella Carrell Pittman. She married Fred Sanders, who died in 1980. She was a member of the Baptist faith.

Pallbearers will be Douglas Pittman, Ellis Pittman, Rickey Pittman and Gary Don Pittman. Surviving are her brother, M.D. Pittman of Odessa, Texas; half brother, Jim Bob Jeffords of Arizona; and niece, Anna Rice, who loved and took care of Bea in the latter years of her life.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Sanders; father and mother, Columbus and Estella Pittman; brothers, Chapel Pittman and Willard Pittman; and sisters Irene Sinks and Mae Pittman.

The family will be at Bratcher Funeral Home in Colbert, Oklahoma, and at other times at James and Anna Rice's home in Kemp, Okla. Bea was a loving and caring person. She also liked her independence. She touched the lives of many during her lifetime and will be missed greatly by those who loved and cared for her.
