"Show me the manner in which a nation cares for its dead and I will measure with mathematical exactness the tender mercies of its people, their respect for the laws of the land and their loyalty to high ideals." – Sir William Gladstone
As descendants of ancestors who endured the hardships to tame and settle this country, we have an obligation to see that those who came before us are remembered appropriately.
My goal in Find-A-Grave is to create the best memorials I can create for the people I am honoring. I add as many people as I possibly can to Find-A-Grave and then, as time permits, I do what I can to link them with their relatives and I also add an obituary or write as much of a biography as I can based on available records and information.
I welcome your reviews of the memorials I have posted, and I welcome any information you might provide to help create the best memorials we can possibly create. Every memorial that I have is a work-in-process.
Use the "Suggest a Correction" feature on the appropriate memorial to submit information or any requests. I follow the Find-A-Grave guidelines regarding the transfer of memorials. Any transfer requests should only be for direct relatives within four generations. This would be siblings, parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
If you send me a request for transfer of a memorial, please explain exactly how you are related.
RE: Transfer of Memorials Thank you so much for all you have done. I will take excellent care of them as they did me. Did you know them or my mother or aunt?
RE: Transfers of Memorials They are my great grandparents. Their daughter was Ruby Marshall Buckman who was my grandmother and her daughter is Idamae Buckman Phillips, who is my mother. I was fortunate to grow up knowing him as a child.
RE: Nona Reeves & Ovella Whitnah I apologize for the misunderstanding. I'm very new to Find A Grave and am just trying to connect relatives of mine. Nona was my grandfather William Lee Farrow's sister and Ovella is my grandmother Lavern Farrow Bradshaw's sister. Please accept my apology in not knowing the rules or completely reading your bio.
RE: Ida Jane Breece James Great job on the bio on her memorial! Easy to read and very complete. Made her life come alive. That is what sharing is all about. I am very proud of what you did as a genealogist. Thank you again for the photos and lovely bio. Sincerely, Judy in California
