I think the problem is in the birth date of Jane. The memorial on Find A Grave says 24 Aug 1828 but the parents didn't marry until Oct 1830. The 1850 census for Yellow Creek (look for Rucker, not Rooker) says that Jane was 19 which means she was born in 1831, not '28. What do you think? Do you have a photo of Jane's stone? I've made the link between Flora Johnson Wilson, my great grandmother and Leleth, her mother and my gg grandmother and you've led me to Wm. & Elizabeth Rooker, my ggg grandparents. I've been to Rothville a couple of times but didn't know enough then to make the links. Thank you so much. One question though, you say that Wm. & Elizabeth came to Chariton County before 1840. They must have come from some other location in Missouri as it shows that Leleth was born in MO. Would you happen to know where they might have been before. I know that some of the counties in MO were formed from other counties and it might be possible that the county name changed but they didn't move at all? Anyway, thanks again Don.
