The IWPP was created in September 2005 by Carina and Gary Nelson. Carina is Swedish born whose Grandfather served on the King's Guard of Sweden. Gary is a retired Staff Sergeant of the Washington DC Air National Guard, a retired Police Sergeant as well as retired from the Federal Government.
RECENTLY we have discovered a great number of images uploaded to our Memorial pages which were lifted from other web sites in violation of copyright laws. These will be reported to FindAGrave and the Contributor in question IMMEDIATELY when discovered.
Beginning May 28, 2012 Carina and Gary relocated to Osthammar, Sweden.
TRANSFERS: We will transfer ANY RELATIVE or FAMILY relation. We also transfer interments to BONA FIDE researchers. No name collectors please. IF YOU DO NOT SPECIFY A RELATIONSHIP IN AN SAC OR EMAIL YOUR REQUEST WILL BE DELETED AND NO REPLY GIVEN. We are inundated with SACs and cannot reply if you request does not meet the aforementioned.
REGARDING THE MASS UPLOAD OF INTERMENTS FOR THE NATIONAL CEMETERIES: Recently the IWPP and its Associates uploaded around 800,000 names to the National Cemeteries. The upload is complete but due to spelling errors on the previous interments duplicates were created. The cemeteries are being checked for same but the IWPP can use additional help triaging the cemeteries for dupes. Any help and contribution to this effort is greatly appreciated.
Over the years several people have stepped forward and embraced the idea of the Project and either through the Project or their individual efforts have made a difference in recognizing the War Fallen and military Veterans the world over.
As of 15 January 2012 the Project has 847,058 photos uploaded to the Internet. These uploads include support of:
The Canadian Virtual War Memorial The British Wargraves Project Find A Grave The Canadian Great War Project The Australian War Graves Project The South African War Graves Project
Anyone interested in uploading photos from European war graves may contact us as the Project has a great many to be uploaded.
PLEASE NOTE: We are very grateful for corrections and additional information, but we are receiving around 100 a day and cannot reply to everyone. Please check back to ensure accuracy of memorial page updates. And sanctimonious, lecturing and condescending notices of corrections will be immediately deleted with no action taken.
I was just reading what you had written about violating copyright on images. I have added a few photos to some of your Holocaust victims and i would like to inquire about whether it is alright or not if i add them and include my source in the little written part? Does that work with you?
I am very grateful of you for taking the time to add these memorials. As a Jewish individual i am touched that others are taking it in stride to never forget these innocent people.
I want to add photos to the memorials so that others will be able to see who they were, as opposed to just seeing a name and dates.
Most of my information from from either: vadyashem.org or holocaust-history.org
Two very wonderful sites.
If you dont agree, then i shall not add anymore images to you memorials.
Floyd Henry Winn Thank You for posting the updates to Floyds Memorial. He is a second cousin. Thanks again for all the great work you do for all of us. Bless You ...
