Bio and Links
Bio Photo Shortly after the Moravian Church in the small town of Aurelia, ND. closed in the early 70's, an association was formed to look after
the cemetery.
It was renamed the Aurelia Community Cemetery. I was elected to the board a few years later when one of the origional members died. About ten years ago I helped my sister work on our family tree and now when I found Find A Grave, I realized how helpful it could have been.
This information was mostly taken from the tombstones at cemeteries I have visited, with some added from our family tree and ND death index files. I also get information from the Mouse River Loop Genealogy Society, of which I am a member. Most of these cemeteries are located in northwestern North Dakota.
With over 68,000 names and dates listed, I'm sure I have made some mistakes. If anyone finds any errors or has more information let me know.I have photos (about 60,000) of the markers of most of the graves added in the last few years. I do not have time to add all these pictures but if someone requests one I will gladly add it if I have one. Please put Find A Grave in subject line.
Most of the obituaries I have added are from local funeral homes or old newspapers. All pictures that I have added were taken by me personally.

Hi Herb,

I was processing my old request and I do see you transferred Uncle Bert to me. If I have not already thanked you, I wish to thank you now, so "thank you". :-)

Have a good day,

Shawna (Leben) King
Question about Carl Emil Leben
Hello,
I was hoping you could help me out if you had the chance? My name is Shawna King, and I am interested in one of the people you added. Carl Emil Leben in a Velva North Dakota Cemetery. I was hoping that you might have some idea how I would either contact the cemetery for more information on him, or if maybe there was a choice or two of funeral homes that would be better to contact. I looked online for Velva cemetery but could find nothing but the yellow pages adds, which are not helpful. ;) Carl Emil Leben was my GGgrandfathers brother and I am trying to find his death information. He was pretty young, so an accident, WW1?? Anyways, if you had any ideas for me, I would be quite grateful.

Alexina Van Pelt
Bainville Cemetery
I noticed that you have put in three graves for this cemetery. Daniel & Nancy Stiehl and Gertrude Cawood. Did you take this information from actual stones? Are you related? Gertrude was married to Robert Cawood who was my husbands great-uncle. Daniel & Nancy are Gertrude's parents. Robert & Gertrude had a homestead in Montana and she died in a flu epidemic and Robert moved back to Harlan, KY where he had been born. Robert is buried in the Cawood Cemetery, Harlan, KY. Looking forward to hearing from you.

Roman ShabeL
Thanks so much for taking the picture. Roman was my mother's brother. I was in ND back in 2000, my computer crashed a few years ago and I lost the pictures that took then. So was trying to replace some of those pictures. Also that's for Catherine picture, she was my mother's aunt. Thanks so much.
