Alice Elaine Berger was born on July 5, 1927 in Tama, Iowa. She died March 1 in Dallas Texas. Her loving husband of 49 years, Jack Berger passed away in Dallas in 2001. She is survived by her daughter Diana Foster and her son David Berger, her son in law John Foster and daughter in law Tonya Jones. She has two siblings Dorothy LaMasters and Ken Overturf surviving in Marshallton, Iowa. Her sister Beatrice is deceased. Her granddaughter Kristy Wort and her husbnd Bill Wort and great granddaughters, Kelsie Pierson and Taylee Dyer reside nearby in Palmer, Texas.
It was a great comfort to have her immediate family as almost daily visitors in her home in Lancaster, Texas. She lived her life as a fiercely independent woman who was able to remain living in her home throughout her long life. She was a devout Christian and voracious reader who was intellectually versed on many topics. She was committed to her daily walks as she could manage and was ahead of her time in her knowledge of holistic health and read constantly about the benefits of preventive health practices. She was loved dearly and will be sorely missed by her family and her intimate circle of friends.
A memorial service will be held at her residence Wednesday, in Lancaster at 5pm.
