She was the daughter of John Danner (1805-1880) and Julia Anne Arnold Danner (1809-1883).
On February 23, 1873, she married William Perry Barger at Knoxville, Frederick County, Maryland.
They were the parents of four children.

Mrs. Harriett Ann Barger, wife of William Barger, died Monday morning at her home in Brunswick, age 61 years. Before marriage Mrs. Barger was a Miss Danner. She is survived by her husband, two sons, William and Edward Barger of Brunswick and one daughter, Mrs. Mentzer. Several brothers also survive. The funeral took place Wednesday morning, leaving the house at 10 o'clock with service in the Lutheran Church conducted by Rev. C.W. Hess. Burial was made in Park Heights Cemetery. C.H. Feet was the undertaker.
