Mrs. Nellie Mae Danner Bailey, 81, of U.S. Hwy. 64 East died Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2007, at Davie County Hospital. Mrs. Bailey was born May 7, 1925, in Davie County to DeWitt and Amanda Bowles Danner. She was retired from Hanes. Mrs. Bailey was a member of Fork Baptist Church and was an assistant Sunday school teacher for more than 40 years. She enjoyed shopping and was an excellent cook. Nellie enjoyed making birthday cakes for all her family members, family trips to the beach and spending quality time with her family. She was a loving wife and mother who spread sunshine among all who knew her. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepfather, Lawrence A. Link. Survivors include her husband, Bonson Leon Bailey of the home; a daughter, Wanda Flippin of Mocksville; a son, Tim (Debbie) Bailey of Advance; four grandchildren, Kevin (Vandee) Gilbert, Kerri (Rob) Creel, Clint Bailey and Lauren Flippin; four great-grandchildren, Gracen, Gary and Shayna Gilbert and Tyler Creel; a sister, Helen Bailey Davis of Advance; a brother, Howard (Mary Lee) Danner of Mocksville; faithful companion, Baby Fluff; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 16, at Fork Baptist Church, with the Rev. Robert Garrett officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes before the service. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today, Feb. 15, at Eaton Funeral Home. The family requests that memorials be considered for the general fund at Fork Baptist Church, 3140 U.S. Hwy. 64 East, Mocksville, NC 27028.
