Mattie Jane (Dalton) Clapp Suffridge, age 78, of Thorn Hill, TN passed away at Morristown Hamblen Healthcare System under Covenant Hospice Care November 16, 2012. She was born May 2, 1934 and saved at Washburn Baptist Church at the age of 12.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Tilman and Pearl (Coffey) Dalton; husbands, Walter E. Clapp and Robert Suffridge; brothers, Horace and Bentley Dalton; sister, Zelma Frye and nephew, Mitch England.
She is survived by her daughters, Phyllis (Dan) Collins of Washburn, TN, Louise (Elmer) Kincaid of Thorn Hill, TN; son, Kenny (Rhonda)Clapp of Washburn, TN; brothers, Benard (Faye) Dalton of Bean Station, TN., Tom (Ruby) Dalton of Tazewell, TN; sisters, Jean (James) England of Talbott, TN, Alta Beeler of Wyndotte, MI; sister-in-law, Mandy Dalton of Talbott, TN.; grandchildren, Amy (Collins) Williams, Jason Collins, Tim Kincaid, Jill (Kincaid) Coffman, Amanda and Rachel Clapp; great grandchildren, Chelsae Collins, Logan, Audrey and Hailey Williams, Caleb and Cassidy Collins, Scott and Emily Kincaid, Tristan and Tanner Coffman and numerous nieces, nephews friends and neighbors. Funeral service will be at 2:30PM Monday, November 19, 2012 at Coffey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Randy Kincaid and Rev. Jeff Stepp officiating. Singers will be the Stepp Family.
