Pat was born in Boston to Maurice P. and Mary Jane (Schermerhorn) Downey of Dorchester, Massachusetts.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, by her two children, and by her five grandchildren. Pat is also survived by her step-granddaughter, by four of her nine siblings, and by numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. A visitation will be held at Fairfax Memorial Funeral Home, 9902 Braddock Rd, Fairfax, VA, 22032 on Friday, June 24, 2016, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 5121 Woodland Way, Annandale, VA 22003, on Saturday, June 25, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Fairfax Memorial Park.
