Shine, Margaret T. “Peggy” of Quincy, died June 27, 2016.

Peggy grew up in Dorchester, later spending the rest of her years in Quincy. A proud Altrusa International member, as well as a longtime member of the YMCA. Peggy kept very active and loved to swim, sew and volunteer. Many folks would describe Peggy as simply; a lovely woman.

Peggy is predeceased by her husband of 55 years, Robert J. Shine. Beloved mother of Robert F. Shine and his wife Elaine of Marshfield, Kenneth G. Shine and his wife Nancy of Duxbury, William J. Shine and his wife Annette of Shrewsbury and Pamela Martin and her husband Andrew of Quincy. Loving daughter of the late Michael and Bridget Lee. Cherished sister of the late Mary Lawson. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Treasured Grammie of Kate, Brendan, Meghan, Bobby, Chris, Tim, Danny, Molly, Ben and grandson in law Elliott.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Thursday 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 10:15 AM on Friday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Ann’s Church, Quincy at 11 AM. Burial in New Calvary Cemetery, Boston.
