Russell was born on April 7, 1961, in Mishawka, to Willard R. and Robbie L. (Holcombe) Newland.
Russell worked at Weathertite as a rain gutter installer.
Russell is survived by his wife, Linda S. Newland, his children, Jeffrey (Jane) Johnston, Amanda (Laif) Newland, Bradley (Bridgette) Johnston, seven grandchildren, his siblings, Donna (John “Roc”) Joyal and Shelly (Ralph) Hoyt, a nephew, John Joyal, two nieces, Kimberly Boose and Angela Joyal, six great-nieces and nephews and two great-great-nieces and nephews.
Russell was preceded in death by his father, Willard R. Newland in 1965, his mother, Robbie L. Webb, his stepfather, Clinton Webb, a brother, Willard Holt, and a grandchild, Baby Derrek.
Russell loved riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle (Mildred), and he is now free.
Cremation will take place with burial of his cremains to take place at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Osceola, IN, at a later date. A wake service will be held at 1 pm Saturday, July 2, at Weathertight Seamless Gutters on Oak Side in Mishawaka,
