Kathryn May Schmidt, 81, of Yorkville went home to be with The Lord Tuesday, September 1, 2015 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born August 3, 1934 in Plano, IL, the daughter of Carl and Myrtle (Needham) Mauser. She married William Schmidt on June 1, 1952 in Yorkville. Kathryn was a member of Cross Lutheran Church in Yorkville. She worked at Schaefer Greenhouses in Montgomery for many years and was also a member of Twin Ponds Fishing Club. She enjoyed baking, cooking, Sudoku, watching Wheel Of Fortune, texting in her later years and her greatest love was spending time with her family.

She is survived by her husband, William of Yorkville, IL; four daughters, Kathie (Mike) George of Kettering, OH, Kim (Steve) Borneman of Yorkville, IL Kristi (Marty) Schwartz of Yorkville, IL, and Karen (Jerry) Bickle of Columbia City, IN; one son, Bill (Tammy) Schmidt of Sheridan, IL; sixteen grandchildren, Sara George, Jackie Cotton, Bob Borneman, Jamie (Matt) Cox, Mallory Borneman, Katie (Jon) Efurd, Marci (Ben) Kulbartz, Andy (Claire) Schwartz, Bob Schwartz, Jared, Jessica and Jordan Bickle, Zeke, Miranda, Melissa and Mitchel Schmidt and eleven great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews

Was preceded in death by her parents, by an infant daughter, Kelly Schmidt and one great granddaughter, Teagan Cox, four sisters, Alice Olson, Ione Wood, Dorothy Monkamier and Margaret Ehl, four brothers, Bob, Glenn, Carl and Gerald Mauser.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, September 4, 2015 at Cross Lutheran Church in Yorkville with Pastor Herbert Grieves officiating. Burial will follow at Lincoln Memorial Park in Aurora. Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 3, 2015 at Cross Lutheran Church in Yorkville and also from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service on Friday, September 4.
