Deanna M. Hines, formerly of Alexandria, VA, passed away Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at the Mennonite Home, Lancaster, where she was a resident. Born in Lebanon County, she was the daughter of the late Douglas and Mildred (Boyer) Hines.

Deanna graduated from Millersville University with a B.S. in Medical Technology and received her Master's from St. Joseph University, Philadelphia. She retired from a career as a Medical Technologist, having worked at Lancaster General, Hershey Medical Center, George Washington University Hospital, Arlington Hospital and the National Association of Blood Banks in Arlington, VA.

Deanna loved to travel and enjoyed trips with the Lancaster Ski Club and excursions to the beach with her family and dog, Annie. She was an avid Penn State and Phila. Eagles football fan. She especially enjoyed spending time with her nieces and nephews. She converted to Catholicism in mid-life and was an active member of Queen of the Apostles Catholic Church in Alexandria, VA.

She will be lovingly missed by brothers, Donald and his wife Sharon, Dennis, half-brother William, sisters-in-law Barbara and Fran Hines; stepmother, Patricia Bays; nephews, Kevin, Eric, Jason (wife Debbi), Matthew Hines and Larry Ruggiano (wife Kirsten); nieces, Lori Hines and Sara Lutz (husband Shane). Deanna was preceded in death by her brother Darrel Hines.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church, 2111 Millersville Pike, Lancaster, PA 17603 at 10:30AM. Father Mark Weiss, Celebrant. Friends will be received at Andrew T. Scheid Funeral Home, 320 Blue Rock Road, Millersville, PA 17551 on Friday, May 29, 2015 from 9:15AM to 10:00AM. Interment will be held in the Conestoga Memorial Park following the mass.
