James F. DeLesDernier passed away Friday, November 14, 2014. He is survived by his wife Milly of 66 years, . . . Jim was born on November 22, 1926 in Murray, NE. He served in the Army Air Corp in WWII, attended Bowling Green State University and earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan. GO BLUE! He retired from Reynolds Metals Company with 36 years of service. He was an active member of Epiphany Lutheran Church where he was property chairman for many years and served in a number of other posts. Jim loved golf, sailing boats that he had built, traveling the world, and creating wood furniture for his family and friends. He was an accomplished carver and was a member of James River Woodcarvers and James River Woodturners. He donated many hours of work to Habitat for Humanity. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or Epiphany Lutheran Church. A memorial service will be held at 2pm Saturday, November 22nd at Epiphany Lutheran Church, 1400 Horsepen Road, Richmond, VA. Condolences may be offered at woodyfuneralhomeparham.com.
