CUMBERLAND - Jeanne Kennard Layng, 84, of Naples, Fla., and Chebeague Island died Jan. 15, 2001.
She was born in Glen Ridge, N.J., and resided in Naples for 31 years.
Mrs. Layng was an active member of the Junior League of Newark, N.J., for many years. Other community involvements include the Wellness Center of Naples Community Hospital, the Conservancy and the Country Club of Naples.
She spent summers on Chebeague Island, where she was active in the Chebeague Methodist Church and the Great Chebeague Golf Club.
Her husband of 52 years, A. Gardiner Layng, died previously.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Robert (Joan) Dayton of Wayzata, Minn., Mrs. Warren (Susan) Bogle of Miami, Mrs. Richard (Sally) Crapser of Granby, Conn.; two sons, Brian Layng of Lafayette, Calif., and John Layng of New Canaan, Conn.; 15 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held in July on Chebeague Island. Arrangements are by Beechwood Society, Naples, Fla.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, A. Gardiner Layng. There will be a memorial service at St. John's Episcopal Church, 500 Park Shore Drive at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 20, 2001.
