Major League Baseball Player. Born in San Francisco, California, he was a shortstop making his debut with the Chicago White Sox on April 11, 1917. For four seasons, he played with the Chicago White Sox (1917-20), was a member of the White Sox World Series Championship team and played in the 1919 World Series against the Cincinnati Reds. In 1921, he was banned from professional baseball for his role in helping to convince some of his teammates to go along with the scheme in the 1919 Black Sox Scandal conspiracy. He ended his career with a record of 394 hits, 196 runs scored, 6 homeruns, 175 runs batted in and a .243 batting average. He died at age 81 in Red Bluff, California, and was the last living Black Sox player.
