Rose Marie Tynan Washburn was born September 2, 1928, at Charles City, Iowa, the daughter of James and Lettie (Herman) Tynan. She graduated from the Charles City High School in 1947. On June 1, 1948, she was united in marriage to Wallace "Bosh" Washburn at Austin, Minnesota. During her working career, Rose was employed at Peerless Photography in Charles City, and at General Photography and Jans Photography in Chicago. She was a member of the Lutheran Church, Senior Citizens, Heritage Club, Moose Lodge, and was a past member of the Eastern Star. Rose emjoyed traveling, needlework, and working with her passion for photography. Her love for her family was seen in how she cared for them in various ways and in spending time with them. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband in 1982, and a brother Jerald "Jimmy" Tynan.
