The name of this cemetery has changed over the years. The cemetery started as a family cemetery for the Griffin family in about 1809. Manassas H. Griffin donated the Catholic Cemetery grounds, five acres to the St. Titus Church and cannot be used for any other but burial purposes. It is two and a half miles from the city. At that time it was known as "The Catholic Cemetery". I have found obituaries that called it "Mt. Calvary Cemetery". In later obituaries it is called "Calvary Cemetery". In 1899 John Seep purchased land near Hydetown for St Catharine's Cemetery, at that time many of the remains were moved from Calvary Cemetery to St Catharine's Cemetery and other Cemeteries. Some time after 1901 it has been known as the "Dutch Hill Cemetery"
